There is a tree planted in our backyard, a very peculiar tree among others. I nourished, fertilized, and watered it. Every day I wait for it to bear fruit. Sometimes weeds grow and infest that tree, so I carefully remove all weeds and whatsoever that may harm or hurt the tree so that it will still grow the way I want it to grow. Years later, the tree grew stronger. Knowing that it could stand by itself, I no longer gave much attention to it unlike before. Months later, I came to see the tree. As I went to the backyard, there I saw the beautiful tree. Suddenly I saw some unlikely holes on some branches, I know it was something but seeing its very healthy appearance, I just ignored it. Months passed and I noticed a lot of branch starts to wither so I called some experts. Guess what? The holes I told you a while ago weren’t just any other ordinary holes, they are made by those woodborers. The planted tree that was once beautiful is now an undesirable tree. I made a mistake in a decision to leave the tree with the thought that it was strong. Learning from those mistakes I now do all I can to restore its former beauty.
Our life here on Earth is sometimes like this tree, without proper guidance it may lead to destruction, that’s why our life is an open book test. There are Scriptures, not just to be read but also to be followed and for us to be guided. Commandments are there to lead us to eternal joy with our Heavenly Father, His plan for us.
Mistakes are part of our life, that’s why we’re here, you wouldn’t know sweet if you haven’t tasted bitter, happiness if you haven’t tasted sorrow. If you think that mistakes bind you on an everlasting guilt and sorrow, and can’t get up, that’s wrong, because that’s not our Father wants us to be. John 3:16 said “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jesus Atoned for our sin, which He died on the cross so that we’ll live back to our Heavenly Father again. Everyone can change. A Mighty Change of Heart is all it takes to look beyond the veil and find out who you really are, you’re a child of God. Be on the World but of the World.
The very peculiar tree that was planted on our backyard now shares its very sweet and delightful fruit. Like what I did on the tree and to my life, don’t make your mistakes bring you down but learn from it and never choose that same wrong decision again.
